Salisbury, England

Salisbury, England
28 – 31 July 2014

Flew into Heathrow from Aberdeen, rented a car and drove to Salisbury. Since our flight was delayed, got into traffic right at rush hour, so very late getting to our B&B.

First English dinner at Cloisters Pub, more than 500 years old. Went to the street market next morning and Evensong in the cathedral that evening. Took a group walking tour but we were the only ones, so we had a private walking tour. Visited St. Thomas’s Church which had a very rare Doom painting.

Did a tour which took you up into the ceiling structure of the cathedral and all the way up the tower to the base of the steeple. Yikes! Took a side trip to Winchester to see their cathedral. Couldn’t stop singing the song!
